Interfolio @ UConn

What is Interfolio?

Interfolio hosts a suite of faculty information system modules geared towards higher education institutions. UConn's purchase of the following modules are part of the university's effort to streamline faculty data and processes related to evaluations and other workflow solutions.

Faculty Activity Reporting Implementation

The offices of Budget, Planning and Institutional Research (BPIR) and the Provost’s Office are working together to implement Interfolio’s Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR) module, which will replace HuskyDM as the primary faculty activity data source. In moving to this new system, we aim to create a streamlined location for faculty data to be uploaded and reported to both ease the administrative burden on faculty to maintain their own records and provide academic leadership with robust reporting capabilities.

Implementation Timeline

Fall 2023

Project kickoff and discovery phase. The Implementation Team will work to assess reporting and data needs and begin configuration of the FAR Interface.

Jan - March 2024

Implementation team meeting with stakeholders in the dean's office of each School and College to discuss pain points, reporting needs and implementation logistics.

April - June 2024

Data configuration and testing in partnership with Schools and Colleges.

For any evaluations (merit, equity, etc.) during the AY 23-24 cycle, HuskyDM will remain the faculty data system.

*Data Entry Moratorium begins June 1, 2024.

July - Aug 2024

Data migration from HuskyDM to FAR.

Users will not be able to access HuskyDM past June 30th.

Fall 2024

FAR launch: Access given to users (faculty and administrative staff)

User trainings, access to training resources and job aids

Spring 2025

Full utilization of Faculty Activity Reporting including integration with Promotion, Tenure and Reappointment module.

*Data Entry Moratorium: Due to the timing of the contracting change between HuskyDM and Faculty Activity Reporting, faculty will need to pause from adding new data into HuskyDM on June 1, 2024. Users who need to run reports will still have access to do so through June 30, 2024. From July 1 through mid-August, there will be no online faculty data system while data migrates into Faculty Activity Reporting.

Promotion, Tenure & Reappointment

RPT & Dossier

In AY 22-23, the Provost's Office implemented the following modules currently used for the Promotion, Tenure and Reappointment Process.

  • Promotion, Tenure, and Reappointment: The PTR module supports the collection of review materials and approval workflows for promotion, tenure, and reappointment cases. The module consists of workflow templates that govern every type of academic review case at UConn.
  • Dossier: Dossier is an online platform for faculty to collect and curate scholarly materials in a single, secure file management module. Faculty may curate academic materials and evidence in Dossier throughout the year and easily integrate into their PTR case.
